Curious as to whether or not the 25 for women will resort back to the narrower stay of the Kayano shoe in general… the 24 was very wide in the toe box and a bit for the heel.

The have been buying the Kayano style for over 10+ yrs and the Kayano 24 was a disappointment. They seem very narrow and hurt my feet. I just recently bought another pair of Kayano 23.
I have 4 pairs now since the fit is just right. Hopefully the Kayano 25 is a success.

    • Hi Lynn,
The Kayano 24 (Women’s Version) has a C/D width which is Wide enough for most women’s feet.
As for the Men’s version of the Gel-Kayano 25 model, it goes up to 4E width, which is Very Wide almost for most people.

I have flat feet and doing extensive research and reading a lot of reviews this particular shoe came as the top of the line for pronation issues. I did not buy it online because I wanted to try it on on my feet. After doing about 10 mins of walking around in the store they felt pretty good. Nevertheless after going for my first walk ( the shoes look really good by the way) my arch started to hurt just like with any other shoes. I have walked on this shoes for about 4 days and 5 miles or so. It hurts. Not normal right? What could be the issue in your opinion? Im a male 200lbs. I was hoping that the break in period will actually not hurt my arches rather than just adjusting to the actual shape of the shoe. Am I asking too much of this particular shoe? Can you guys recommend any other type or brand that can help me with this issue? I know its a lot of trial and error but I think for the first time something is definitely wrong. Please feel free to comment or share your experiences. Any help is greatly appreciated. By the way I did contact one of the ascis reps in one of their chats to find out if this is normal and she told me my feet shouldn’t hurt.
    Thanks again for your answers.

    • Hi Jon,
Reading your comment here I have the following advice:
Try to limit walking with the Asics-Kayano-25 shoes for 10-15 minutes daily for a week.
The 2nd week try to walk 15-20 minutes, and so on next week.
I believe this will give your legs and feet time to adjust and realign.
At the time when you walk without the Kayano shoes try to not pronate with your feet while walking as much as possible.

I would really appreciate if you come back here to let us all know how this worked for you.
